I understand the popularity of the Sennheiser CX300, CX400 and CX500 headphones, The CX300 are the older version, and for the price, I do think they’re O.K. However I heard the figure of 80% of CX300’s are fakes. How these people know this, is a mystery. The problem is not the CX300, it’s finding a good and cheap alternative.

My Two favourites are the Ultimate Ears Metro.fi 2 and CrossRoads MylarOne X3 (now the X3i’s are available). The Metro’s lean to the bass heavy without compromising the rest of the frequency range, and the X3’s are on the lighter side.

Either way, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and it doesn’t necessarily have to have anything to do with Sennheiser. If you insist on having a pair of Sennheiser earphones (and why wouldn’t you), just understand that you’re getting into some seriously murky water.
