Simple Solution For Complicated Fake Bose Triport IE Problem
Debunking counterfeit Bose Triport IE earphones
Having just come off the phone to a representative of Bose UK, things have got slightly more complicated regarding fake Bose Triport IE’s. The concern is the green lettering on the front of the plastic box, which is different. On the left , is a picture found on ebay.co.uk and on the right an image found on ebay.com. As you can see the lettering is completely different.

It gets even more tricky
I have to be careful of what i say, but I was told that around the world there are three different types of packing, including …. a cardboard box! A cardboard box? Yep, so its not as clear cut as first thought. But we’re always grateful for in put into trying to debunk unscrupulous sellers.
The Solution
The solutions are easy to follow, however you must remember that there are genuine sellers who for one reason or another, want to sell their Bose IE earphones, for genuine reasons. So it’s not always easy to tell the genuine sellers from those trying to rip you off. what you need to understand is;
1) Authorized Bose dealers are not allowed to sell Bose products on 3rd party sites, such as ebay or amazon.
2) They should always sell for around the RRP. Anything lower than 10% below the RRP, view with suspicion.
3) Around the world there are 3 different types of packaging, including the cardboard packaging.
4) Buy Only from an Authorized dealer.

Sorry to hear That Brian. As far as I’m aware, yes the Genuine items have seriel numbers. Sorry for your loss. Im doing my best to get info to the masses before they buy.
hey even i am having a box man now i can say welcome to the fake club kk tell me which r the other 2 packages else than the box
HI,
I just want to help ou those who are not sure and to be aware of all the fakes.
I think i got some fake ones, reason “price”.
And some other points to whatch out,for my understandings, the original Bose (i got the cardbord version) the letters are suppouse to be Yellow no greenish as they are on mine,i DO HAVE a serial number but its a standart one.
The metal mesh seems cheepand you can see some glue spots on it.
When you take the rubber off, that little mesh onthe original Bose IEM have a hole in the mesh, tha fake one doesnt.
So at forst i got quite angree, but realising that i`ve only payed 40 euros and honestly i got some sennheisser cx300 and apple ones, but even beeing fake they got a marvolouse sound, even doe theyre a bit low volume, but i found the quallity great.
Im a music freak so what i found out the i rather aim on some UE Triple if.10 Pro`s, they god damn expensive arround $ 350, but as it looks and reading ,any reviews, there would be only one copetitor, the Shure SE530 but my vote after many reviews goes for “UE”.
Got some Bose’s off Gumtree for a bargain price… should have guessed. Sound quality was slightly disappointing (1st clue) though they looked like the real thing and then the little silver circles on them fell off (2nd clue). Had no idea until I saw this site that there were fakes about!
Hi All,
Bose is a client of mine and I specifically do PPC advertising for them through Google, Yahoo and MSN. We have had a lot of problems with competitors selling fake headphones, and it is causing a dramatic affect of Bose’s business and tarnishes the brand name.
Bose’s legal team are in the process of trying to identify and locate the retailers who sell fake headphones. We need to stop them and we need you to help us, anywhere where you purchase the headphones and can identify that they are fake then please post the address on this site. From here we start the process of closing these businesses down with the legal team.
If you don’t want to be disappointed with your purchase, only buy your headphones from the official retailer. We have recently put in our ads “Beware Of Fakes!” to help identify and educate you that there are a lot of retailers selling fakes. So please be careful!
I purchased the Bose in-ear headphones from this site. Wish I had doe my reserach first. The payment was takeb by monetbrokers.com. Tried calling them but no one answers.
I paid £33.99 and after checking them, they are fake.
I’ve emailed this company headphones.direct@googlemail.com but no reply.
Their address is not listed as Acoustics.
This site must be shut down quickly
HI CHRIS BROMLEY……1 WEEK AGO I’M A VICTIM ABOUT FAKES BOSE EARPHONES AND I DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT FAKE OR GENUINE BOSE EARPHONES AFTER THEN I LOOKING ABOUT THIS IN THIS WEBSITE AND NOW I KNOW ABOUT THAT BUT 2 YEARS ALREADY ABOUT FAKE BOSE EARPHONES AND YOU SAID TEAM LEGAL BOSE IN PROCESS TRYING TO IDENTIFY AND LOCATE THE REATAILS.I WANT TO KNOW WHAT A KIND TEAM BOSE HAVE UNTIL NOW…I THINK LOOK LIKE TEAM SOCCER,THANKS.
Wow… I’ve never been duped before, but i’m rather frustrated with this whole situation. You tell us how to avoid fakes, why have ebay and bose let this happen in the first place? apple ipods cannot be faked and their packaging clearly state a serial number on every packet.
I bought mine as a gift for someone else and they arrived today, ebay contacted me providing an instant refund via paypal without telling me they were fake?! random…
they then go on to say that i’m a valued customer which is why i can have a refund… surely that isnt relevant and everyone should not be sold these in the first place…
I then opened them to find that they are very good in sound quality and design and still unsure whether they truly are fake. I couldve given these to my friend now and i’m stuck with an opened box of headphones that i dont need.
PULL YOUR FINGER OUT EBAY!!! and BOSE, Take some ownership!
This is a job for Anne Robinson and Watchdog…
I’m sorry about your situation. I understand your frustration with ebay and Bose, however I think it’s down to Bose to monitor ebay and various other online oulets, for counterfeit gear. why do I sya that? Because ebay has far bigger fish to fry.
Jewelry, Golf club, Sneakers, Watches, Electrical items, Designer clothing, ebay has a lot of fake gear to monitor, and dare i say it, the task is a huge one. However it’s also manufacturers themselves that need to get involved and help the consumer.
The problem on ebay is power sellers and the ease of setting up an account. Power sellers are nothing of the sort, and i wish ebay would abolish that title. Registering, there must be a way to clamp down on sellers from certain region’s.
ebay, paypal and the manufacturers should make it far easier to prove something to be fake.
Although I certainly don’t condone counterfeiting merchandise, It probably doesn’t matter if you get real or fake Bose headphones from a performance point of view. There’s nothing special about Bose stuff except big marketing words, and a price high enough to make you believe that what you paid for actually sounds better more reasonably priced gear.
That’s a common cry, but not one I 100% agree with. In the case of the In Ear earphones, there are better, but there is always an alternative to anything. However I’ve just ordered myself a very replica pair of Bose ie earphones, and I’ll put your comments to the test. I’ve yet to hear a ‘better’ sound from a counterfeit pair of headphones in comparison to the original.
