Yep it’s true, and I wish I could have saved the page. At least there are some honest sellers out there…willing to sell you counterfeit pioneer headphones. As for the Pioneer headphones, this is another one for the “buy the Equation Audio RP21″ comment. Anyway, on with the info.

I remember when the first fake CX300’s were identified. It was fairly easy to do, with cable length, and the mesh on the grills, but the counterfeit market soon worked all that out, and fake CX300’s are now very sophisticated. I think the same will happen with the Pioneer’s. Once the counterfeiters work out they’ve been rumbled, I’m sure they’ll get their act together and produce better fake Pioneer headphones. My Advice in all seriousness, is buy the Equation Audio RP21’s. Just my 10 cents worth!
