Official word from Bose.com
Authorized Bose sellers on ebay.com and Amazon.com.
But there are also concerns over fakes as well.
I have to start by adding that in the UK, Bose has told me on many occasions that Authorized dealers are not allowed to sell on “Third party sites like ebay and amazon.” In the U.S. things are obviously different. Bose has it’s on site on Amazon.com and there are authorized sellers on ebay, but please read the information that Bose gave me before buying.

Thank you for contacting Bose to inquire about the sale of Bose headphones by dealers on eBay.com and Amazon.com. There are many counterfeit Bose headphones being sold on both sites by unauthorized dealers. However, there are authorized dealers who sell on both sites as well. On eBay, authorized dealers typically display the Bose dealer badge, which looks like this:
(see image below)
The badge links to a window explaining the advantages of buying from a Bose authorized dealer. The window’s URL (in the address bar) should begin with “www.bose.com” to be valid.
In order to check whether a particular dealer is authorized, you may also email Bose at privacyandsecurity@bose.com or call Bose at 800-999-2673, extension EM1 in the U.S. or Canada, or 508-766-1099, extension EM1 if you’re calling from outside the U.S. or Canada. The only way to be sure you’re buying a genuine Bose® product is to buy directly from Bose or a Bose authorized dealer. Bose products purchased by consumers directly from Bose or an authorized dealer, whether online, by telephone, from a catalog or in a store are genuine and carry the Bose limited warranty. There are growing numbers of counterfeit products in the marketplace. Bose has become aware of sales of counterfeit Bose® in-ear and on-ear headphones and QuietComfort® 2 and 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones by unauthorized sellers on popular auction and other e-commerce websites, and in flea markets. Typically, these products are sold at a fraction of the price that Bose and its authorized dealers are offering. The counterfeit products are very close imitations of the genuine products in their appearance, but they do not meet the high standards of performance found in genuine Bose products.
Bose encourages anyone who believes that he or she has purchased counterfeit Bose products to report details about the purchase to Report_Counterfeits@bose.com .
I confirm that you may post this message on your fakeheadphones.com web site. Thank you for your interest in educating consumers about the risks of purchasing counterfeit headphones.
Sincerely,
I’ve been off the ball as regards to fake Quite Comfort headphones, but such is the advancements of fake headphones on the market.
