I think Amazon has sold me fakes!

Is Amazon as trustworthy as I first thought?

In my recommendations for buying genuine headphones, I’ve always stated that you (and I) should buy from Amazon directly and not from a third party on amazon. Indeed many manufacturers list Amazon as an authorized dealer. I know that Sennheiser Ireland supply Amazon.co.uk. So the question is; why do I appear to have bought fake Sennheiser CX300 II from amazon? Against the Sennheiser CX300 II 2.5, it’s obvious that the other two pairs from bitteach and amazon are fake. out of the genuine Sennheiser CX’s I do have, CX300, CX300 II, CX400 and CX500 one thing is always true and that’s the build quality. One of the main ways to tell a fake is the uneven ear bud holder.

Ear bud holder

Fakes always on the left fake CX300 II (bitteach) and CX300 II 2.5 (amazon.co.uk). Look at the uneven plastic on the left, in comparison to the very precise straight edged ear bud holder on the right. Keep this in mind as you read the rest of the post.

With the top image of the CX300 II 2.5 in mind and the other fake and genuine comparisons …

… here’s what the so called genuine £25.40 CX300 II from amazon look like in compared to the fake CX300 II from bitteach that I bought for £9.99. Amazon have sold me fakes! bitteach CX300 II @ £9.99 & Amazon.co.uk CX300 II @ £25.40. can you tell the difference? There is a difference, the 2.5’s that I have are obviously genuine.
