Friday was a strange day. Myself and a colleague were given a mouthful of abuse by some guy with a can in his hand, and then I came home to find these kind comments on my Youtube videos.

So Lets deal with my weight. Thanks MrMasala66 for pointing out that I’m slightly overweight. However I’ve lost well over a stone in the last year, so I’m happy.

I’d like to address that issue that Mr Masala66 thinks I’m harming ‘others’ profits. Firstly MrMasala66 doesn’t mind ‘others’ ripping you off, or ripping off manufacturers name, design etc. But now he thinks I’m harming ‘others’ (those who sell counterfeit goods) money, its all guns blazing with a rather meaningless attempt at acting like a spoilt two year old.

What Money?

Secondly, as far as I can work out there’s little to no profit for your average seller in the counterfeit game. I guess that’s why I had that Chinese guy from one of those fake Monster headphone sites, was on the live chat to me, calling himself Mary … ’cause he’s so embarrassed by the pittance he’s earning!

Do you really think companies and online sites like Wallmart, Buy.com, Amazon, HMV have stayed in business all this time by selling counterfeit goods and settling for a $5 profit on a pair of Sennheiser headphones instead of the 30-50% profit that I know full well your average electrical outlet store enjoys? Of course not!

So it’s no wonder that MrMasala66 is concerned about me making an impact on ‘others’ profits, because there is no real profit in counterfeits! Those I caught out told me about their profits. When I told them that usual profit margin was around 30-50% (according to my sources) they were amazed!

I like to stress that every counterfeit seller on ebay I’ve caught, I’ve offered them the chance to go legit and sell the genuine items, in exchange for advertising space on fakeheadphones.com. Goodness knows we need genuine people who sell genuine products, and there is a huge market and a huge mark up on selling genuine items.

Only one got back to me, and then he went into selling what we now know as, Kindles. No doubt you’ve heard the “Four Kindles” joke.

Sell Counterfeits for $5 profit or sell genuine £269 headphones for 30% profit … hmm let me think!

What school of business do these people go to (and a few of the sellers on ebay that I’ve caught selling counterfeits have been University students)? Did these people miss the viral marketing lecture … If you do something right, your customers will tell 6 people. If you do something wrong they’ll tell 13 people. Its no wonder these fools go through the process of setting up a fake business, ripping a few people off, then having to start over again. Where would Amazon be if they did that? Amazon would be nowhere like these guys are, that’s where Amazon would be!

Morel of the story; this is how little MrMasala66 and ‘others’ regard you and your hard earned, and mine! And if you’re going to have a go at me, you need to try harder. If you want to make real money by selling genuine products, then I can send a huge amount of traffic your way. Instant customer base just itching to part with their money! I’ve got my own contacts and they’ll be glad to help you out. Of course they would, ’cause there’s real money in it for them and for you. Companies go to great lengths to get their products into the market and these idiots are settling for a pittance instead of … well, think of what a 30% (for example) profit margin on a pair of Dr Dre Solo headphones is? It’s more than $5.

Understand The Risks

If you purchase headphones from an unauthorised online reseller you risk the possibility of receiving faulty, fake or even stolen goods with little hope of obtaining warranty support in the event that the product develops a fault.
