Bypass the Counterfeit Bose Triport IE Earphones

I first spotted this on amzon.co.uk. There seems to be some very low prices for what are a fairly expensive pair of earphones. Now, I’m going to order a pair of Bose Triport earphones from amazon, to see if the advice on the fake Bose is true.
Here are a few links, for helping you spot fake headphones.

Quick word
For The Bose IE earphones, buy from Bose, or a reputable merchant, not a ebay seller, unless they also have a reputable website. And by that i mean, if you don’t recognise the site, amazon, buy.com, shop.com, then don’t risk it.

I bought some Bose in ear headphones of amazon, and they are fake, no doubt about it. So be carful people what you buy. Green text on the front of the box means fake. Code 042365 on box means fake. Numbers under the left ear bud that arn’t exactly straight means fake.
off*
I also bought the same Bose headphones from amazon and they are fake.
Sorry to hear it Matt
code 042365 doesn’t necessarily mean they are fake
About the serial on the right earbud, on the fake ones, the serial is white, and crooked, just like Howard said. One the genuines, however, the serial should be blue and the text should be thin and faint.
recieve my bose ir from goodsling.com – have found them to be counterfeit – the jack is square – the genine jack is an angular one – the pouch has stitching come off & the headphnes silver mesh is not cut to the size of the earpiece – what a load of junk – just hop i get my money back now – how they can trade holy knows
just found out from my bank that i can put in a claim – i have sent my headphones to bose – they will come baqck to me to tell me there fake & they will destroy them – i get a letter from bose then i can put a claim in with the bank & get my money back – if someone can pls mention that http://www.goodsling.com is selling counterfeits ild apreciate it
Wished I checked this website before I bought mine from this sham company Goodsling. Yep, fake too – delivered straight from China. Have sent my headphones to BOSE for confirmation and plan to get a refund through my credit card company. Don’t know why the credit card companies continue to process purchases from this company when they will have to refund due to counterfeit ones being supplied.
Wish I would have seen this first to was looking before I bought them for something like this but couldn’t find anything. Hopefully they aren’t fake haven’t got them yet ordered them on 4/18/09 will post what happens!
I guess it depends on where you got them from. Keep us updated on the forum.

Can Bose company sue seller for selling fake headphones?
Good question and the answer I believe is yes. I was an article that showed a haul of fake Shure gear, more microphones and other audio gear, but I assume that those who were caught were prosecuted.
can Bose Sue a seller n ebay? I wish they would. in fact I wish the manufacturers would take a more .. proactive stance. Whether Bose or anyone else does actually sue people? I’m not sure. But I assume they’ve had a good case to sue them.
However the problem so widespread, that chasing individuals would be a costly affair.
Hi All,
Bose is a client of mine and I specifically do PPC advertising for them through Google, Yahoo and MSN. We have had a lot of problems with competitors selling fake headphones, and it is causing a dramatic affect of Bose’s business and tarnishes the brand name.
Bose’s legal team are in the process of trying to identify and locate the retailers who sell fake headphones. We need to stop them and we need you to help us, anywhere where you purchase the headphones and can identify that they are fake then please post the address on this site. From here we start the process of closing these businesses down with the legal team.
If you don’t want to be disappointed with your purchase, only buy your headphones from the official retailer. We have recently put in our ads “Beware Of Fakes!” to help identify and educate you that there are a lot of retailers selling fakes. So please be careful!
I’m going to post this message on the forum.

I was in contact with Bose Sweden since I wanted to find out if I had a genuine pair or not. They were less than forthcomming. The ones I have dont share much of the easily spotted flaws that have been identified on the internet.
The serial number I provided actually was for a pair of ON ear headphone that were made in China in 2007 according to the customer rep and my product registration passed.
However they did not seem bothered or interested in what I had to say, I just got a standard reply that they recommend authorized resellers.. Regardless I still think they sound wrong, and the seller offered me a full refund since he knows that bad ratings hurt sales on auction sites.
where did you buy them from?
[...] leave good feedback and think they’ve got a genuine bargain. Here’s a page with more details : fakeheadphones.com
Hello. I bought TEN pairs of Bose Headphones from an ebay seller OUTSIDE of ebay before I knew that phony Bose headphones existed. The first person I sold a pair to pointed it out that they were fake, and now I’m stuck with NINE boxes of fake Bose Headphones. What on earth can I do with them? Is there any way to get my money back? Is there a website that will buy them from me?!
Wow. Unfortunately, the only honest thing to do is to burn them and take the hit financially. You can inform your local Bose site of your mistake and donate the headphones to them as part of their investigation.
I don’t want to suggest that you even think of doing the dishonest thing. BTW how much did you pay for them?
I have been offered some BOSE earphones in trade for apple itouch and I am hesitant in going through with it Because of all the stories about counterfeit earphones And stories about people being ripped off , I think that if
It sounds too good to be true it’s because more than likely It is , so buyer beware / also I know what they cost and even if they fell off a truck you should expect to pay about half price , so as I said before an I’m sure you have heard millions of times “if it sounds too good to be true ” …….etc.
So don’t let greed help you and your $ be apart .
